About The Position

Ocular Tissue Recovery Technician Part-Time, On-Call | Thursday & Friday | Day Shift (6:00 AM - 6:00 PM) $23 per hour, increases to $25 per hour + case premiums after training completion Position Purpose: The Recovery Technician is responsible for ocular tissue procurement procedures throughout the service region . This position ensures compliance with regulatory standards and internal procedures while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism in a time-sensitive healthcare environment.

Requirements

• H igh school diploma or equivalent
• Must maintain a valid driver's license , current auto insurance , and an acceptable driving record as determined by the organization
• Must have reliable transportation
• Required to have a yearly influenza vaccin ation
• Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, and phone communication skills
• Ability to work independently with limited direction and collaboratively within a team
• Demonstrates e xcellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills , while managing multiple tasks and frequent interruptions.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, general database systems, and web-based applications.
• In the last 5 years, the candidate must have 0 major moving violations and less than 3 minor moving violations.

Nice To Haves

• Medical or biological science background preferred, including familiarity with medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Conduct s urgical procurement (recovery) of ocular tissue s from authorized donors
• Perform donor medical history reviews and physical assessments, collect blood samples, and accurately document donor information in the eye bank database system.
• Prepare and transport ocular tissues and biological specim ens, including transport to and from other locations as needed.
• Maintain compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), HIPAA, and all federal and state regulations, including completion of annual c ompetency reviews
• After attaining proficiency , assist in hands-on training in ocular tissue procurements.
• Maintain clear and effective communication with team members, leadership, and external partners
• Assist with facility cleaning , equipment maintenance and other operational task s or projects as assigned.
