About The Position

Elwyn Adult Behavioral Health Services seeks a Recovery Support Worker (RSW) to build relationships with individuals and develop shared understandings of the individuals' goals and the steps necessary to achieve the goals. The RSW will assist persons with identifying and implementing meaningful goals for their Individual Action Plan focusing on areas such as mental health recovery education, daily living skills, substance use, relationships, independent transportation, self-help groups, exercise/wellness groups, and vocational & leisure activities. The role involves organizing community activities, providing transportation support, maintaining a positive recovery-based environment, and offering crisis intervention when necessary.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • One year full-time experience in providing direct care service to mentally ill consumers preferred.
  • Must possess a current, valid driver's license in state of residence.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of driving experience within the United States.
  • Acceptable driving record.

  • Preference will be given to multi-lingual candidates who meet the cultural and linguistic needs of the population served.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews the Screening, Assessment, Crisis Plan, Critical Needs Plan and IAP upon completion or update completed by the LPHA.
  • Assists persons with identifying and implementing meaningful goals for their Individual Action Plan.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of prescribed medications and follows state-specific medication guidelines.
  • Organizes, plans, and facilitates community activities that offer wellness/fitness, social, and cultural opportunities.
  • Offers or assists with transportation needs to support engagement in recovery-focused community resources.
  • Maintains a positive attitude and promotes a recovery-based environment.
  • Works with individuals to identify and utilize preferred recovery tools and self-care techniques.
  • Demonstrates appropriate therapeutic boundaries.
  • Provides face-to-face crisis intervention to aid individuals in managing crises.
  • Carries out routine daily tasks including scheduling appointments and providing support for daily living.
  • Encourages participation in domestic tasks to maintain a safe and comfortable environment.
