The Recovery Support Specialist (RSS) is a behavioral health professional and assists patients with substance use and mental health disorders, working under the direction of the Recovery Support Supervisor and in collaboration with clinical, nursing, and medical staff. This includes, but is not limited to, conducting safety and security checks through patient rounding, assisting patients with daily schedules, leading patients in educational and recreational activities, facilitating psychoeducational groups, and accompanying patients to and from examinations and treatments. The primary role of the RSS is to support the delivery of individual patient care through a focus on safety and engagement.
