About The Position

As a Recovery Support Specialist (RSS) at Recovery Centers of America (RCA), you will be an integral part of the patient care team, providing direct support to individuals in treatment for substance use disorders. Your role is vital in ensuring a safe, structured, and supportive environment where patients can focus on their recovery journey. Founded in 2015, RCA has treated over 77,000 patients and is on a mission to save one million lives from the disease of addiction. Our treatment centers operate 24/7, providing compassionate, evidence-based care. Many of our team members have walked the path of recovery themselves, bringing a level of understanding and support that makes RCA a uniquely impactful place to work. A former patient may not be hired at the same location where they were treated until a minimum of one year has elapsed since the completion of their treatment at that location. Former patients may be considered for employment at locations within RCA other than where they were treated within a year after treatment. Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with behavior modification techniques and 12-step recovery principles.
  • A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in all patient interactions.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of experience in addiction services or behavioral health preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and support patient activities, ensuring safety through regular checks and observations.
  • Engage directly with patients, facilitating therapeutic interactions, group sessions, and scheduled activities.
  • Assist with admissions and discharges, including processing belongings, documentation, and patient orientation.
  • Support crisis intervention through verbal de-escalation and against-advice interventions.
  • Facilitate patient movement within the facility and assist in coordinating attendance for clinical and medical appointments.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions, safety checks, and incidents.
