About The Position

The Recovery Support Professional II will primarily support clients in their residential treatment in a therapeutic capacity. This includes facilitating psychoeducational groups, documenting meetings and progress on recovery goals, and coordinating basic needs. The McCall Behavioral Health Network is a nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring hope and promoting wellness and healing through a continuum of behavioral health services, including prevention, treatment, recovery support, and community engagement, for individuals and families across Western Connecticut. For over 50 years, McCall has provided care to those in need, never turning anyone away due to inability to pay. Led by President and CEO Maria Coutant Skinner, LCSW, the team is committed to helping individuals and families overcome adversity, foster resilience, and achieve wellness. With locations in Canaan, Danbury, Torrington, Waterbury, and Winsted, McCall serves over 3,500 clients annually, supporting them throughout their recovery journey. Requirements

  • Must have organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Prolonged periods of time sitting at a desk, using the phone, and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.
  • Valid Driver’s license required with ability to transport others using company vehicles.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree and alcohol/drug certification preferred.
  • Previous experience with recovering persons preferred.
  • Previous experience with an electronic health record preferred.
  • Ability to communicate in Spanish and/or Portuguese preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates individual sessions and psycho-educational groups in the program focused on increasing independent living skills and behavioral health stability in the program and through community-based activities.
  • Maintains appropriate clinical records and reports according to established timelines.
  • Assists in the development of recovery plans and connects clients to needed resources including entitlements and other supports necessary for recovery including Community Supports.
  • Identifies clients who are experiencing barriers to accessing treatment and addresses said needs through facilitating securement of entitlements and resources.
  • Participates in regularly scheduled staff meetings regarding client treatment and meets weekly with the Clinical Supervisor or Supervisor.
  • Collects urine samples for drug testing as requested by Supervisor and Clinician.
  • Provides transportation to clients for appointments as needed.
  • Provides services in other residential programs as necessary.
  • Any additional responsibilities assigned by Supervisor.
