The primary purpose of this position is to provide dynamic prevention education, assessment, and counseling for students, their parents or legal guardians, and faculty on campus. The role involves providing substance abuse and high-risk behavior early intervention education to students from grades 9 through 12, as well as individual, group, and family counseling for students. The position also includes intervention and crisis counseling, serving as a consultant to faculty regarding substance use, co-occurring disorders, and high-risk behaviors. The individual will operate as a member of the school team, providing accurate and timely reports including diagnostic summaries, service plans, follow-up reports, and progress notes. Participation in ongoing training workshops is required to keep skills and licensure current, along with developing and implementing evaluation and outcome studies for students and parents, and organizing and presenting during parent forums and meetings.
