About The Position

Lighthouse Behavioral Health Solutions (LBHS) provides individual, outpatient, intensive outpatient, partial hospitalization, residential, psychiatric services, and medication assisted treatment for mental health and substance abuse treatment needs. Lighthouse Behavioral Health Solutions (LBHS) is looking for quality candidates who are pursuing professional growth in a supportive environment and can thrive in a collaborative team-focused culture. As a Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRS), you will play a vital role in empowering individuals with mental health and/or substance use disorders to achieve wellness and independence. This position emphasizes authenticity, equity, respect, and empathy, and leverages lived experience to inspire hope and model recovery.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Certified Peer Recovery Supporter through OMHAS or other designated accrediting body in Ohio (in good standing).
  • Valid Ohio driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance.
  • Must pass BCI background check, corporate compliance checks, and employment drug screening.
  • Minimum age: 25 years or older.
  • Demonstrated commitment to personal recovery and the recovery community.

Responsibilities

  • Provide community-based recovery support in locations that meet client needs (home, community, or treatment facility).
  • Build authentic, recovery-focused relationships that promote self-determination, informed choices, and trauma-informed care.
  • Serve as a mentor, advocate, and motivator, sharing lived experiences to guide others in their recovery journey.
  • Facilitate peer-led support groups and encourage participation in community-based mutual self-help programs.
  • Assist clients in identifying personal goals, strengths, and interests related to recovery.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including electronic health records, billing sheets, and group sign-in sheets.
  • Collaborate with clinical and case management teams during weekly staff meetings.
  • Uphold confidentiality standards and comply with mandated reporting requirements in the State of Ohio.
  • Other duties as assigned.
