The Recovery Peer Specialist provides patient-centered substance use disorder (SUD) support services within an interdisciplinary treatment team. This role supports patients’ psychosocial, physical, intellectual, and spiritual recovery needs through individual and group interactions, care coordination, documentation, and community engagement. The Specialist applies knowledge of SUD treatment, recovery supports, and community-based resources to promote patient safety, dignity, accountability, and continuity of care.
