About The Position
As a Recovery Navigator with Recovery Corps, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals on their recovery journeys from substance use disorders. This position is designed for those who have personal experience in recovery and are passionate about helping others achieve healthier lives. You will be placed at an organization dedicated to serving recovery communities, where you will engage in mentoring, peer support, and resource navigation. Your work will directly impact the lives of individuals striving to overcome challenges associated with substance use disorders, empowering them to build confidence and skills necessary for their recovery. Throughout your service, you will participate in skill-based training and professional development opportunities, including the Peer Recovery Support training. This training will equip you with the tools and knowledge needed to effectively support clients in their recovery process. You will foster strong relationships with clients, encouraging them to take agency over their own recovery while maintaining their progress. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to share your experiences as a Recovery Corps ambassador, helping to raise awareness and support for recovery initiatives within the wider community. This position is part of the AmeriCorps program, which emphasizes the importance of national service in addressing complex social issues. As a member of Recovery Corps, you will be part of a dedicated team working towards making recovery possible for more Americans.
