About The Position

As part of the Recovery Ministries team at The Austin Stone Community Church, the Recovery Ministry Associate (RMA) will provide ministry and administrative support to help sustain and facilitate on-going recovery ministries health. The RMA will report to the Recovery Ministries Program Manager.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1 year experience in an administrative support role or as a ministry associate
  • A female able to care for female participants and leaders
  • Pastoral effectiveness - Desire and ability to understand and meet people where they are emotionally, spiritually, and physically. Strong grasp and alignment with The Austin Stone’s convictions in pastoral applied theology.
  • Administration - Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and implement ministry programming. Integrate multiple perspectives and synthesize them into a cohesive plan. Strong ability to support multiple projects simultaneously, with dependability and excellence.
  • Communication - Has clarity of speech and proper use of grammar. Demonstrated capacity to inspire, instruct, and encourage through effective communication in various settings. Able to communicate and work within a complex organizational structure with multiple layers of input. Able to provide ministerial care for women while adhering to a biblical counseling philosophy (i.e., training through Equipped to Counsel or something similar).
  • Detail Oriented & Organizational Skills - Proven skills in creating, implementing, maintaining, and following through on processes that ensure people are engaged, cared for, informed and connected. Ability to lead, recruit, resource, and mobilize volunteer teams to scale. Able to successfully develop new and better ways to work and promote a continuous improvement mentality.
  • Collaboration - Collaborate across the organization and with various ministry partners. Ability to integrate multiple perspectives and synthesize them into a cohesive plan.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year experience in a recovery ministry environment or caring for trauma survivors, preferred
  • Training through Equipped to Counsel or similar, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist in recruitment and training of leaders.
  • Provide care for female participants and leaders while adhering to a biblical counseling philosophy.
  • Oversee the planning and registration process for groups and events, acting quickly to resolve problems.
  • Use administrative skills to support Recovery Ministries including prepping supplies, external communications, and facilities coordination.
  • Attend all required events and activities for The Austin Stone, including staff meetings, prayer meetings, special events, retreats and staff development days.
  • Support special projects as assigned.
