About The Position

The Recovery Care Specialist (Behavioral Health Technician) at Aster Springs plays a crucial role in providing emotional support and care to clients dealing with eating disorders. This position involves direct interaction with clients, facilitating their daily activities, and ensuring a safe and supportive environment. The specialist will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary treatment team to implement evidence-based practices and contribute to the overall well-being of clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mental health or social work field preferred.
  • Active First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
  • Documented proof of MMR and HEP B vaccinations.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite; working knowledge of CRM preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion.
  • Excellent time management skills and customer service.
  • Strong verbal communication and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in behavioral health or eating disorder treatment settings.
  • Knowledge of nutritional philosophy and body image issues.

Responsibilities

  • Provide emotional support, encouragement, and care to clients throughout the day/night.
  • Facilitate necessary shift communication with the supervisor.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for the RCS position.
  • Attend and incorporate training on de-escalation, grounding, and processing into job performance.
  • Work with the treatment team to present a unified approach to clients.
  • Recognize the need for clients to process emotions and engage appropriately.
  • Communicate information and concerns from processing to the therapist/treatment team.
  • Build rapport and maintain professional boundaries with clients.
  • Follow emergency intervention protocols for self-harm situations.
  • Encourage clients to participate in daily programming and activities.
  • Drive clients to appointments and outings in company vehicles.
  • Document meal/snack/beverage completion and complete time sheets daily.
