South Carolina Recovering Professional Program (RPP) is committed to protecting the public's safety through the early identification of impaired health professionals who need assistance and the return to safe practice through appropriate referral and effective monitoring, rehabilitation, and recovery. SCRPP is a confidential referral and monitoring program designed for physicians, nurses, pharmacists, dentists and other licensed health professionals in South Carolina with alcohol or substance use disorders, depression, anxiety, job related burnout, boundary issues, or any other mental related condition or disorder which has the potential to interfere with or impede the ability to safely and effectively treat patients. A Recovery Specialist II at South Carolina Recovering Professionals Program (SCRPP) uses clinical expertise, critical thinking skills, and advanced case management to licensed healthcare professionals referred to SCRPP for substance use and/or mental health disorders. The Recovery Specialist II assists the participant in navigating the intake, treatment, and monitoring services, while also serving as a primary liaison between the participant and their respective board(s) and/or referral source. This position is an advanced-level case management role that requires exceptional organization, communication (both verbal and written), time-management and critical thinking skills, in addition to clinical skills in substance use disorders and mental health.
