About The Position

This open competitive advertisement is for a Career Service position located at the Statewide Records Retention Center. The mission of the Records Retention Center in the Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) is to manage and preserve the Department's records in an organized, secure, and efficient manner. This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.

Requirements

  • Must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must possess one (1) year of clerical experience.

Responsibilities

  • Inmate Medical Records Management: Respond to inquiries from national and state agencies, attorneys, and the public regarding inactive inmate medical records using the Records Management Tracking System.
  • File Tracking and Auditing: Operate, maintain, and audit both automated and manual file tracking systems for all inactive medical records, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
  • Research and Direct Inquiries: Research the tracking system to locate files and direct requestors to the appropriate office for additional or specific information as needed.
  • Program Improvement and Training: Analyze and recommend program changes, participate in testing and implementing operational procedures, and provide training and technical assistance to new employees.
  • Quality Assurance and Data Management: Participate in the Quality Assurance Program by conducting quarterly inventory audits, maintaining logs, and managing data entry, shipping, and receiving files.
