About The Position

Genie Reconditioning, LLC specializes in restoring Genie aerial lifts and material handling equipment to like-new condition. We are dedicated to delivering safe, reliable, and cost-effective solutions while maintaining a culture of quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement. The Recon Technician II - Hydraulics will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining hydraulic systems on Genie equipment. This role requires strong technical knowledge of hydraulic components, troubleshooting skills, and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will have experience with hydraulic circuits, pumps, valves, cylinders, and hoses, along with the ability to read schematics and service manuals. Secondary responsibilities include light mechanical assembly, disassembly, and general support of reconditioning operations, as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred)
• 2+ years of experience working with hydraulic systems (aerial lift or heavy equipment experience a plus)
• Strong understanding of hydraulic theory and troubleshooting techniques
• Ability to read schematics, diagrams, and service manuals
• Proficiency with hand tools, hydraulic testing equipment, and diagnostic software
• Welding and fabrication experience a plus
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair hydraulic systems on Genie lifts and related equipment
• Perform preventive maintenance and system testing to ensure reliable operation
• Rebuild and replace hydraulic components, including pumps, valves, cylinders, and hoses
• Read and interpret hydraulic schematics, service manuals, and technical documents
• Use precision tools, diagnostic equipment, and test benches to troubleshoot issues
• Maintain accurate service and repair records in compliance with company standards
• Collaborate with other technicians to ensure high-quality reconditioning results
• Follow all safety protocols and ensure a clean, organized work environment
