About The Position

The Recertification Specialist is responsible for processing initial, annual, and interim recertifications to ensure compliance with Section 8 and Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) programs. In addition, this position assists with front desk operations and supports the Assistant Community Manager with questions and issues relating to tenant compliance.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • 1+ years of experience in customer service or working in an office required
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with stressful and demanding situations
  • Excellent communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Review and maintain resident files, including weekly filing, to ensure compliance with applicable government regulations
  • Ensure all certifications are processed within the required timelines
  • Collect, review and verify income, assets, and household information for annual and interim recertifications in accordance with HUD regulations and program requirements
  • Assist with marketing of vacant units and managing the waitlist as needed
  • Provide front desk support, including answering phones, greeting residents, responding to general inquiries, and entering resident work orders
