About The Position

The Recertification Specialist for Affordable Housing at Corvus Property Intelligence plays a crucial role in managing the recertification process for a Project Based Section 8 property. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with affordable housing regulations, conducting income verifications, and facilitating communication between residents and management. The specialist will also collaborate with maintenance teams and manage financial aspects such as rent collection and budget adherence, all while fostering a supportive living environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (Required).
• 2 years of experience with low income / LIHTC (Required).
• 2 years of experience with Section 8 (Preferred).
• Driver's License (Required).
• Ability to relocate to Buffalo, NY before starting work (Required).

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the annual recertification process for participants in HUD housing programs.
• Ensure timely and accurate collection of income, asset, and expense information from program participants.
• Conduct thorough reviews of financial documents to verify participant income.
• Assess changes in household composition and ensure alignment with program guidelines.
• Review and document changes in participant expenses, such as medical costs or childcare expenses.
• Coordinate and facilitate housing unit inspections to ensure compliance with HUD housing quality standards.
• Collect, organize, and maintain accurate records of all documentation submitted by program participants during the recertification process.
• Provide support and guidance to program participants, addressing inquiries and assisting with the completion of recertification documentation.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with HUD regulations and guidelines throughout the recertification process.
