The Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and staff. This role is responsible for providing excellent customer service, managing front desk operations, and ensuring efficient administrative support within the hospital. The ideal candidate will be professional, organized, and empathetic, with a strong understanding of confidentiality in a healthcare setting.

Requirements

Education: High School Degree or equivalent required
Must have excellent communication skills and telephone etiquette
Successful completion of BLS and Handle with Care certification within 30 days of employment

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in a healthcare or behavioral health setting strongly preferred

Responsibilities

Answer and disseminate all incoming calls to the appropriate parties in a professional and courteous manner
Greet visitors and ensure the visitor log is completed
Ensure visitors and staff are properly screened prior to entering the building
Process all outgoing and incoming mail
Accept packages for the hospital per hospital’s policies
Maintain a clean, organized and welcoming front desk area
Observe the activities of the main lobby and ensure the area is kept orderly
Respond to inquiries with accuracy and discretion
Adhere to HIPAA and hospital confidentiality standards
Provide clerical support to the Assessment and Referral Department as needed
