Poplar Springs Hospital is a 183 bed acute care and residential facility. Much more online at: https://poplarsprings.com/ Poplar Springs is seeking a PRN Receptionist to help monitor telephones, assist visitor process, and other administrative duties as assigned. Hours will vary and applicants need to have flexibility with his/her availability. Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Must have sufficient hearing capability to receive and place calls and sufficient manual dexterity (eye hand coordination) to operate switchboard equipment; as well as pleasant telephone and paging voice.
Must be able to deal with the public in a polite, positive and professional manner; utilize judgment in receiving guests, as well as in receiving , transferring calls and/or taking messages; handle stressful situations and people in a calm manner; demonstrate an ability to remember names, faces and locations of staff, allied health professionals and physicians.
Must maintain strict confidentiality of hospital and patient information.
Must be at least 21 years of age per Commonwealth of Virginia Interdepartmental Regulation of Children’s Residential Facilities. (22VAC42-11-380, pg. 43)
Must have patience, tact, and a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm.
Good communication skills; must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
Basic clerical skills, basic experience with office equipment (telephone, copy machine, fax, etc.
Experience with Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
Ability to problem solve and accept feedback when circumstances warrant such actions.
Willingness to interact with patients with varying levels of cognitive functioning.
