The Receptionist at Bethesda is responsible for greeting and directing residents, visitors, employees, physicians, and other inquiring parties in a cheerful and helpful manner. This role involves answering telephone calls promptly and professionally, identifying oneself and the facility, and providing assistance including returning calls, pages, and transferring calls. The receptionist must alert supervisors to any questionable calls or concerns regarding individuals, residents, or employees. Key duties also include accepting, documenting, and delivering pertinent information and messages, maintaining a neat workstation, and reporting equipment failures. The position requires preparing, typing, copying, and distributing documents accurately and timely. The receptionist monitors all individuals entering or leaving the facility, ensuring residents are properly signed out when leaving with family or guests, and reports any concerns to the supervisor. Additionally, the role involves opening and sorting office mail and distributing it, and ensuring proper relief and logbook sign-out during breaks and station departures. Other duties may be assigned as appropriate.
