About The Position

Forest View Hospital, located just seven miles southeast of downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan, is a private 108 bed psychiatric facility that serves children, adolescents and adults. We are licensed by the State of Michigan, fully accredited by The Joint Commission and we bring more than 45 years of experience to the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of behavioral health problems. As a part of our continued success and growth, we are seeking qualified applicants for a Full-Time Receptionist. Visit us online at: https://forestviewhospital.com/ A Full-Time Receptionist cordially greets and receives hospital guests, ascertains their needs and appropriately directs visitors. They also operate the hospital switchboard in a professional manner and correctly routes calls. They perform admission registration process and a variety of clerical duties. This position actively supports, promotes and works to fulfill the Mission, Vision and Values of Forest View Hospital using our Service Excellence program.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
Effective oral communication skills and demonstrated interpersonal skills to interact with a diverse population.
Ability to make independent, responsible decisions upholding hospital policy.
Must be comfortable working with psychiatric patients

Nice To Haves

Previous office/front desk experience or switchboard experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Operates the hospital switchboard and paging system functions in a professional, courteous, and effective manner directing all incoming calls to the appropriate person.
Welcomes visitors to the hospital in a warm and helpful manner. Maintains visitor log, passes and adherence to established procedure.
Performs admission procedures, demonstrating comprehension of admission forms and facility to answer patient/visitor questions regarding the process.
