Key Position Details: Job Description: Greets patients, visitors and business associates in person or by phone. Assist and direct them as needed. Supports the department registration, data and administrative needs.

Requirements

  • Must be 16 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required functional competencies as listed on the job description
  • 2 to 5 years in customer service experience
  • 2 to 5 years of experience with computers and technology
  • 2 to 5 years of experience with medical terminology

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED

Responsibilities

  • Receive patients, visitors and business associates.
  • Provide a welcoming environment.
  • Provide direction and assistance, offer escort as needed.
  • Receive messages, flowers, newspapers, and other patient-related deliveries.
  • Assure availability of wheelchairs and waiting room supplies.
  • Access patient electronic chart only based on need related to this service function.
  • May do patient check-in within Excellian or other program, and conduct check-in procedures.
  • May assist patients to other departments.
  • May enter orders into Excellian, and schedule patient for a service.
  • Answer calls and inquiries.
  • Screen, verify, and relay messages to department personnel and physicians.
  • May monitor Excellian messages folders.
  • May perform department-specific tasks such as administrative support, data collection, room scheduling, clerical support.
  • Other duties as assigned.
