USPI's Norman Endoscopy Center is looking for a talented Part Time Receptionist to join the team! Our mission at Norman Endoscopy Center is to provide high quality gastrointestinal services to each and every patient in a safe, convenient, congenial environment. We are committed to promoting gastrointestinal health and wellness through the delivery of excellent clinical care.

  • Is responsible for the day-to-day patient flow through the check-in process to facilitate efficient functioning of the center.
  • Unlocks the doors and makes coffee for the lobby. Ensures the lobby is ready for patients and visitors.
  • Greets patients and family with friendly demeanor. Acts as a resource for patients and visitors.
  • Acts as a resource to staff regarding office issues (scheduling questions) and patients/visitor concerns.
  • Answers telephone with a 'friendly' voice, assists caller as needed or directs them to the person who can help them. Primary person to answer NEC phone calls.
  • Obtains photo identification and insurance cards from patients, as well as collect pre-pay amounts. Creates Promissory Notes when needed.
  • Inputs patient's personal and insurance information into the electronic health system, including PHI Authorization, POA information, and Advanced Directives.
  • As needed, quietly assists the patient in completing necessary paperwork upon check-in, in compliance with HIPAA policy.
  • Sets up new charts daily for the next day's patients including stickering charts and filling out physician survey card information.
  • Assists physicians and nurses with retrieval of any chart needed during the day.
  • Communicates ordering needs for charts to the Business Office Manager.
  • Distributes mail and provides payments to Business Office Manager for posting.
  • Makes appointment reminders calls to patients for the next business day.
  • Enters anesthesia charges on face sheets to be sent to Sooner Anesthesia for billing.
  • Maintains cancellation log and scans cancellation charts.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Ability to deal efficiently and effectively with a wide variety of individuals.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and document information accurately.
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask while displaying a courteous and respectful manner to patients, family members, staff and physicians.
  • Knowledge of efficient filing systems.
  • Ability to maintain a strong sense of professionalism.
  • Complies with HIPAA Policy and Procedure.
  • Certification in Medical Record Management and Medical Terminology preferred but not necessary.
