As the face of PACE program in Queens, this individual sets the tone for the job seeker experience. The receptionist will be responsible for the daily operation of the front office and manage the inflow of visitors looking for career support. This individual will be a master juggler and lead with warmth, positivity, and empathy.

Requirements

  • 3 years of front desk experience with the ability to work in a fast paced environment and able to multi-task.
  • HS/GED equivalent minimum requirement
  • Knowledge of standard office practices and procedures
  • Knowledge of telephone techniques and etiquette.
  • Ability to operate a multi-line telephone system, computer and other standard office equipment.
  • Handle a high volume of calls with courtesy, speed, and accuracy.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with staff; communicate with the public in a courteous professional manner using tact and patience.
  • Work independently with general supervision; understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, excel, word, etc.
  • Participate in required professional development and trainings as assigned or approved for professional job growth.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Front Desk, Greet, take messages and ensure all who enter feel welcomed
  • Using a multi-line switchboard, answers and appropriately routes internal and external calls.
  • Receives and greets visitors and directs them to their proper destination.
  • Responds to routine inquiries from the public and refers to non-routine, sensitive and/or complex requests and other inquiries or complaints to appropriate staff.
  • Distribute Metro-Cards
  • Taking attendance and collecting attendance documentation, as needed.
