Responsibilities

  • Serve as the liaison between the physician and patient.
  • Answer telephone calls and determine the nature of patient inquiries.
  • Schedule appointments and route calls appropriately.
  • Take messages and pull charts for messages.
  • Greet patients and family members upon arrival.
  • Obtain and update registration and insurance data in the billing system.
  • Facilitate patient flow into the practice.
  • Perform charge entry, referrals, and pre-certifications as needed.
  • Schedule specialist appointments and diagnostic tests.
  • Attend to patients using age-appropriate principles of growth and development.
