About The Position

Memorial Hermann Surgery Center, Woodlands Parkway is a state-of-the-art outpatient surgical facility committed to providing high-quality, patient-centered care in a safe and welcoming environment. We specialize in a wide range of surgical procedures, ensuring exceptional care and efficiency for our patients and their families. We are seeking a friendly, professional, and detail-oriented Receptionist to join our front office team. As the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and staff, the Receptionist plays a key role in creating a positive experience. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong customer service mindset, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting.

Requirements

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in handling multi-line phone systems and office equipment.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and composure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a medical office, healthcare facility, or customer service role preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance verification is a plus.
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems preferred.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients, visitors, and staff with a warm and professional demeanor.
  • Check-in patients, verify insurance information, and ensure all necessary paperwork is completed.
  • Answer and direct phone calls, take messages, and provide information as needed.
  • Schedule appointments and coordinate with clinical staff to maintain an efficient workflow.
  • Maintain an organized and welcoming front desk area.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and handling correspondence.
  • Collect and process payments, co-pays, and verify billing information.
  • Adhere to HIPAA and confidentiality guidelines while handling patient information.
  • Provide general support to office staff and assist with additional duties as needed.
