About The Position

The Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for families, students, and visitors entering the school and plays an essential role in creating a welcoming, Christ-centered environment. This position provides front office support, manages daily communication, assists with student attendance and early dismissals, and supports administrative staff in maintaining an organized and efficient school office. The receptionist models Christian character, hospitality, and professionalism, reflecting the mission and values of the school in all interactions.

Requirements

  • Strong alignment with the mission and beliefs of the Christian school.
  • High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience in customer service, school offices, or administrative roles preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks.
  • Comfortable using office technology (phone systems, email, student information systems, basic office software).
  • Warm and welcoming personality.
  • Strong organizational ability.
  • Clear communicator with parents and staff.
  • Ability to remain calm and helpful in busy situations.
  • Heart for serving children and families.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds (packages, supplies).
  • Ability to move around campus when assisting visitors or students.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist all visitors, parents, and students entering the building in a friendly, welcoming manner.
  • Answer and direct incoming phone calls and emails.
  • Manage visitor sign-in procedures and ensure proper campus safety protocols are followed.
  • Provide general information to families and assist with directions or school questions.
  • Manage student late arrivals and early dismissals.
  • Communicate with teachers regarding student arrival, dismissal, and parent messages.
  • Maintain daily attendance records and assist with attendance tracking.
  • Assist with student needs such as forgotten items, messages from parents, or minor concerns.
  • Provide clerical support to the principal and office staff.
  • Distribute mail, messages, and packages to staff and classrooms.
  • Assist with copying, filing, and document organization.
  • Help coordinate school communications, forms, and office supplies.
  • Assist with emergency communication procedures when needed.
  • Support front office coordination during drills, medical needs, or safety situations.
  • Help maintain accurate contact information for families.
  • Assist with special events, field trip forms, and school-wide activities when needed.
  • Support teachers and staff with logistical needs as appropriate.
  • Maintain a calm and organized office environment that supports the school day.
