About The Position

The Receptionist at STRHS-Lawrenceburg performs essential receptionist, registration, and clerical duties associated with direct and scheduled patient admissions. This role is crucial in ensuring that all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information is obtained and entered into the registration system with timeliness and accuracy. The receptionist will also distribute and explain forms, documents, and educational handouts to patients or family members, and meet with patients or their caregivers before office visits to exchange necessary information and documentation. Additionally, the receptionist communicates with the admitting physician's office, nursing unit staff, and other appropriate personnel regarding admissions to exchange necessary information and determine placement. The role also involves verifying insurance benefits and obtaining precertification/authorization as necessary, as well as determining and accepting required payments, including co-pays and deductibles, or referring to financial counselors for follow-up.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
