The receptionist answers directly to the training and personnel coordinator and ultimately to the chief juvenile probation officer. The receptionist's principal duties are to remain available to the public by being strategically placed at the front reception area to greet the public and receive all department incoming telephone calls. This is a key position as the receptionist is often the first contact the public has with this department. The incumbent must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills in carrying out responsibilities by performing the following duties.
