About The Position

The Receiving Utility Operator is responsible for monitoring the delivery of potatoes into the plant, ensuring the unloading process is efficient and safe. This role involves participating in safety processes, conducting inspections, and maintaining cleanliness in the receiving area while adhering to safety and sanitation standards.

Requirements

• Must be sanitation qualified.
• Must be forklift certified or meet requirements to become forklift certified.
• Must be Lock/Out-Tag/Out qualified.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
• Effectively communicate in English verbally and in writing.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
• Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the delivery of potatoes into the plant.
• Participate in the safety engagement process, including giving I Care huddles and conducting area assessments.
• Check bays to determine how full they are of the product.
• Assist incoming trucks into the proper bay area to unload.
• Perform thorough inspections of the belts to ensure they are working properly.
• Eliminate plug-ups and ensure there is no overflow during unloading.
• Monitor the unloading of the product to ensure 100% product availability at all times.
• Ensure no foreign material enters the line during unloading.
• Take samples of the product at the beginning, middle, and end of unloading for WSDA and Lamb Weston Richland QA.
• Clean the work area to reduce mess, which may include shoveling and sweeping.
