Job Summary The Receiving Supervisor will oversee the daily operations of receiving department. This role is responsible for coordinating and managing all incoming shipments , ensuring accurate inventory management, optimizing workflow efficiency, and leading a team of receiving staff. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in shipping, receiving, logistics, or warehouse management.
  • Previous supervisory or managerial experience in a similar role is required.
  • Experience with inventory management software (e.g., WMS, ERP) and shipping systems.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and work in a warehouse environment.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in shipping and receiving operations.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree encouraged or equivalent experience in logistics or supply chain management

Responsibilities

  • Receiving Operations: Oversee all incoming shipments , ensuring timely and accurate delivery of goods.
  • Prepare and process receiving documentation, ensuring everything received is verified and put away to assigned places
  • Manage the unloading of trucks, containers, and other transport vehicles.
  • Coordinate with carriers, couriers, and logistics partners to schedule pickups and deliveries.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure that all received goods are properly logged into the system.
  • Perform regular inventory counts and reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to received goods or shipments.
  • Team Leadership and Supervision: Lead, train, and manage the receiving team to ensure efficient operation.
  • Establish performance goals and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
  • Ensure a safe and compliant work environment in accordance with company policies and regulations.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate receiving processes to identify areas for improvement.
  • Implement cost-saving strategies and improve operational efficiency.
  • Work with the Operations team to integrate lean practices and technologies
  • Customer Service: Communicate with internal teams and external customers to ensure their shipping and receiving needs are met.
  • Resolve any issues related to Deliveries , such as damages, delays, or misdeliveries , in a timely manner.
