About The Position

Kongsberg Defense & Aerospace Inc. is looking for a detail‑driven Receiving Specialist to join our growing team. In this critical role, you will ensure the accuracy, quality, and compliance of all incoming parts and materials entering our facility. The Receiving Specialist is responsible for verifying shipments, maintaining thorough documentation, and supporting the integrity of our inventory and quality processes. Requirements

  • High school diploma/general education degree (GED)
  • 6 months related experience required.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience accepted.
  • Ability to concentrate, pay attention to detail, multi-task, and use independent judgment and discretion.
  • Frequently required to see, hear, sit, stand stoop, kneel, crouch, walk, bend/reach, climb ladders, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Regularly required to communicate through both verbal and written communication. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Operation of fork truck.
  • Ability to work with fine detail and distinguish color.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Responsibilities

  • Good communication/interaction with delivery drivers/transport companies by maintaining professionalism and respect.
  • Physically inspect items / pallets for damage while they are being unloaded onto the receiving dock.
  • Compare identifying information; physically count, weigh, or measure material arriving at the facility; and verify accuracy against purchase orders, packing slips, and COC.
  • Unpack and examine incoming material shipments, and coordinate with the quality assurance inspection department to reject damaged shipments.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to move material around.
  • Any discrepancies found with the shipment, contact the Purchaser to resolve the issue.
  • Maintain good intercompany communication with all departments including, Inventory Specialists/Planning/Procurement/Quality.
