About The Position

AJC Logistics LLC is a full-service logistics provider offering a complete transportation solution to our customers in over the road services, freight forwarding, and or warehousing. We specialize in the management of refrigerated cargo to the food industry, however, do not limit ourselves to just food. We’ve been in business for the past 50 years serving both domestic and international customers. In the past 10 years we’ve focused our energy in growing our truckload brokerage business while expanding our services in ocean transportation to the Jones Act trades of Puerto Rico, Hawaii and Alaska. We are seeking a qualified Receiving Scheduling Specialist who loves to work in a fast-paced, high volume, warehouse environment. This position requires a highly organized individual with strong attention to detail and the ability to deliver excellent customer service while supporting transport operations and administrative tasks. It also demands effectively managing multiple appointment requests in a fast‑paced environment.

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • One year of experience working in a fast-paced customer service role, preferably in a warehouse setting.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (basic formulas, data handling), Word, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrates solid typing skills with a high level of accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and book appointments for incoming/outgoing freight with customers and carriers via email, often for time-sensitive freight.
  • Check dates on appointments requests to ensure accurate dates.
  • Anticipate and resolve scheduling conflicts, delays, or unexpected issues.
  • Adjust appointments quickly and coordinate alternatives to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Handle incoming/outgoing calls, respond to shipment status inquiries, assist with BOLs, and provide general info.
  • Work with CSR team to ensure all information for scheduled appointments are accurate.
  • Accurately input appointment details, PO Numbers, Temperature, driver info, and shipment data into internal systems (Datadocks).
  • Perform general office tasks, sort mail, handle paperwork, and support the transport operations team.
  • Act as a primary contact for customers and carriers, confirming times, relaying messages, and resolving issues.
