About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Receiving, Parts and Tools Specialist to join our team in Hawthorne, Nevada to support the Hawthorne Army Depot. The Receiving, Parts and Tools Specialist will order, stock, issue, and expedite the movement of parts to support preventive maintenance and repair functions for all craft shops. Position will require off-station part runs to various vendors within the geographical area. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance. Typical Responsibilities Include: Perform all work safely and with the utmost concern for the safety of self and other employees. Perform all work in compliance with environmental permits and regulations. May be required to work overtime. Be at work when scheduled and maintain a good attendance record. Reads and understands Task Hazard Analysis for identifying risks to health and safety during job specific tasks in the work place. Performs other duties of the same or lower level of difficulty as assigned. May be assigned occasional duties of a higher level of difficulty than those listed above. Responsible for reporting potential real environmental concerns to the Environmental Service. Order, Stock, Issue, and expedite the movement of parts to support preventive maintenance and repair functions for all craft shops. Order all base operation and maintenance parts. Identify items by referring to parts manual, and supply/manufacturing catalogs. Position requires off-station runs in/out of town to pick up parts, which at times may require pulling a trailer. Follow Safety Data Sheet guidelines for handling, out of town runs, storage, and disposal of Hazardous Materials. Conduct inventories, prepare reports, and maintain records. Make substitutions of parts based on knowledge and past practice. Work requires the ability to work independently towards general results necessitating a high degree of ingenuity, initiative and judgment. Read and interpret instructions, technical manuals, parts catalogs, specifications, and supply documents in ordering parts. Identify short, over, and/or damaged incoming parts and supplies. Maintain issue documentation that is auditable to each end item. Determine stock levels, location records, user requests, issues, and end item usage. Operate computer terminal to maintain records, as well as placing orders utilizing MRO. Act as an ordering officer to purchase various parts for deadlines. Maintain necessary purchasing records to support all purchasing. Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Minimum of six (6) months work experience in Warehouse operations/Tools and/or Parts knowledge or related field.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Forklift License within 60 days of starting.
  • Ability to drive a truck and trailer throughout the working site and to other geographical locations. Ability to drive includes the use of trailers and functions associated with hook up and disconnections.
  • Must demonstrate excellent Multi-tasking/Time Management Skills.
  • Must be detailed oriented and posses the ability to work independently as well as work in a team setting, with limited supervison.
  • Must demonstrate and possess the on-going willingness and ability to learn, understand and interpret shipping and ordering procedures.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, in English, using all standard and commonly used business froms of communication. Good writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to operate a computerized based terminal.
  • Must be computer literate in common software applications and able to operate general office equipment.
  • Must maintain fitness-for-duty standards to perform the essential functions of the position, to include any HWAD drill, contingency and/or emergency requirement.
  • Must be able to work in a constant state of alertness in a safe manner.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all certifications as required by the Master Training Plan.
  • Must be Team Player and possess the ability to work with Internal/External Customers in a professional manner.
  • Must have a valid state driver’s license with a good driving record. Must also be able to obtain and maintain a clearance through the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms and be favorably vetted through the NCIC III System and able to obtain and maintain Hawthorne Army Depot (HWAD) site access.. US Citizenship is required to obtain this clearance and access.

Nice To Haves

  • Shipping and Receiving experience, preferred.
  • Two (2) years' experience in an industrial parts room or purchasing experience in an industrial supply environment, preferred.
  • MS Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel experience is highly desirable.
  • MRO & Maximo experience is highly desirable.
  • Able to understand parts manuals, backup documentation, etc., preferred.
  • Ability to research data and provide recommendations from information available, preferred.
