About The Position

The position is responsible for operating forklifts, turret lifts, and cherry pickers to unload materials and merchandise from incoming trucks, as well as for storage and retrieving products for production or shipments. The role emphasizes inventory accuracy and proper product placement within the warehouse.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance.
  • Possess an appropriate level of mathematical, reading, and writing skills.
  • Possess intermediate level computer skills: Microsoft Office and DBM.
  • Ability to identify OSHA safety violations.
  • Read and interpret bills of lading, work orders, and other shipping/receiving related documents.
  • Maintain forklift certification.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • 2+ years of related job experience performing all essential duties of a material handler-shipper/receiver in a high-volume operation preferred.
  • RF handheld experience preferred.
  • Certified to operate forklifts and cherry pickers.
  • Strong proficiency in English communication including reading, writing, and verbal interactions.

Responsibilities

  • Operate forklifts, turret lifts, and cherry pickers.
  • Accurately pick and move parts throughout the warehouse.
  • Weigh products using the proper scales.
  • Check part numbers and quantities with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Understand priorities and related activities with other departments to determine impact on production, shipping, and customer requirements.
  • Ensure received product materials meet quality requirements and are properly documented, including packing slips and bills of lading.
  • Read customer order notes and fill orders with any special customer requirements.
  • Maintain stock of warehouses and various supplies.
  • Assist in counting physical inventory and perform inventory audits as needed.
  • Notify Department Lead or Supervisor of any stock shelf issues.
  • Report defective materials/products, shortages, and/or questionable conditions to the Lead or Supervisor.
  • Maintain warehouse cleanliness and orderliness.
  • Follow safety policies and ensure compliance with OSHA safety regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
