About The Position

The Receiving Manager oversees inbound operations, customer returns, and Club Services at the Joliet Distribution Center, ensuring seamless coordination between receiving, returns processing, club repair, and quality control functions. This hands-on leadership role combines strategic planning, team development, and operational execution to meet ecommerce fulfillment goals. The manager will drive process improvements, maintain compliance with OEM standards, and foster cross-departmental collaboration to support company growth.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (some college preferred).
  • Proven supervisory experience in distribution, ecommerce, or manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of golf club products and repair techniques (within last 3–5 years).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and inventory management systems.
  • Effective communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Reliable transportation and flexibility to work weekends or overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and mentor receiving, returns, and club services staff, including team leads and specialists.
  • Interview, hire, train, and develop team members across all departments.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching and feedback.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage daily inbound workflows including shipment intake, put-away, and EDI/vendor issue resolution.
  • Oversee customer returns processing, including intake, inspection, disposition, and restocking or refurbishment.
  • Ensure accurate and timely product receipts and returns aligned with launch schedules and inventory goals.
  • Partner with inventory, procurement, and customer service teams to resolve compliance, routing guide, and return-related issues.
  • Maintain clear documentation and tracking of return reasons, product conditions, and resolution outcomes.
  • Oversee club repair, building, and customization processes including regripping, shaft installation, refinishing, and loft/lie adjustments.
  • Ensure quality control protocols meet OEM specifications and customer expectations.
  • Coordinate external vendor relationships for OEM parts, refurbishing services, and resale of overstock or returned inventory.
  • Develop and implement process enhancements to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize turnaround times for both inbound and return workflows.
  • Plan staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation to meet seasonal volume demands, including peak return periods.
  • Champion innovation and proactive problem-solving across all departments.
  • Maintain accurate reporting systems (e.g., SOB) to track performance metrics, inventory flow, and return trends.
  • Monitor and report departmental KPIs; ensure accuracy of weekly and monthly reports.
  • Communicate procedural updates and training materials; onboard new hires with structured plans.
