About The Position

The Receiving Lead plays a critical role in the manufacturing supply chain by overseeing the efficient and accurate receipt of all incoming materials and products. This position ensures that all shipments are inspected, documented, and processed in compliance with company standards and safety regulations. The Receiving Lead coordinates with warehouse staff and other departments to maintain inventory accuracy and supports continuous improvement initiatives to optimize receiving operations. This role requires strong leadership to manage a team, resolve issues promptly, and maintain a high level of operational productivity. Ultimately, the Receiving Lead contributes to the seamless flow of materials that supports manufacturing schedules and overall business objectives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in warehouse receiving or inventory management within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven leadership experience managing a team in a fast-paced operational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of receiving procedures, inventory control, and safety regulations.
  • Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS) and basic computer skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or higher in supply chain management, logistics, or related field.
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
  • Certification in forklift operation and warehouse safety.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data and generate operational reports.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the receiving team to ensure timely and accurate processing of incoming shipments.
  • Inspect incoming goods for quality and quantity, verifying against purchase orders and shipping documents.
  • Coordinate with inventory control and production departments to update stock records and resolve discrepancies.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols and company policies within the receiving area.
  • Train and mentor team members to improve performance and adherence to operational standards.
  • Manage scheduling and workflow to meet daily receiving targets and support production demands.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and logistics partners to address delivery issues and improve supply chain efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate records of received materials and prepare reports for management review.
