Come join our journey, and experience what it means to be Done Right with Rhoads . We are currently looking for a Receiving Lead to join our dynamic, fast-paced, and growing team. The Receiving Lead is responsible for supporting the Receiving Manager in overseeing daily receiving operations. This role ensures that incoming goods and materials are accurately received, inspected, and documented. The Lead coordinates with other departments to maintain an efficient flow of materials, assists with process improvements, and provides direction and support to the receiving team. This position serves as a working lead, balancing hands-on receiving tasks with supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field required.
  • 3+ years of experience in receiving, inventory management, or warehouse operations.
  • US Citizenship Required
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control software.
  • Basic understanding of supply chain and logistics operations.
  • Effective leadership and team coordination abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage shifting priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; ability to learn job-related software (Trimble required; MS Dynamics SL preferred).
  • Ability to communicate clearly in an industrial environment, using both verbal and written skills.
  • Ability to work around operational equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, overhead cranes).
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in all aspects of work.
  • Communicates clearly and effectively with diverse stakeholders, fostering positive working relationships.
  • Provides guidance, motivation, and ongoing support to team members to drive performance and engagement.
  • Maintains a solid understanding of warehouse safety standards and regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance and safe operations.
  • Applies strong problem-solving and analytical skills to identify issues, evaluate options, and implement effective solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing the receiving process to ensure all incoming goods are properly checked, recorded, and stored.
  • Verify received goods against purchase orders, delivery notes, and packing lists.
  • Inspect shipments for damage, defects, or discrepancies and escalate issues to the Receiving Manager or vendors as appropriate.
  • Support coordination with purchasing, warehouse, and production teams to ensure timely material flow.
  • Ensure accurate and timely entry of receiving data into the inventory management system.
  • Maintain records of received goods, discrepancies, and issue resolution.
  • Assist with periodic audits of inventory to ensure stock accuracy.
  • Support compliance by ensuring proper filing of receiving documentation such as bills of lading and delivery receipts.
  • Recommend and support improvements to receiving procedures that increase accuracy and efficiency.
  • Assist with implementation of best practices in receiving operations, such as barcode scanning or automated systems.
  • Lead daily activities of receiving clerks and warehouse staff to ensure smooth operations.
  • Provide training, guidance, and coaching to team members.
  • Help develop and maintain work schedules, ensuring adequate staffing levels.
  • Ensure safety standards and protocols are followed, including safe use of equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.).
  • Assist in preparing reports on receiving activities, including key metrics such as receiving times, discrepancies, and supplier performance.
  • Provide input on trends and operational challenges to the Receiving Manager.
  • Confirm invoice batching to ensure invoices are accurately grouped, scheduled, and prepared for timely submission in accordance with client and contractual requirements.
