About The Position

The Lead Worker assists the department manager in several key phases of Receiving Operations. The lead is the right-hand man of the Supervisor, so the ability to learn and perform all jobs in the receiving department is essential for this position.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must meet qualifications for tow-motor operator certification.
• Must be able to communicate clearly via phone, in person, and in writing.
• Proficient in basic math.
• Must be detail-oriented.
• Must have good leadership skills.
• Must be motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Must have good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to perform the essential job functions.
• Must be willing to work from Monday thru Friday, weekend work and overtime may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist department manager in directing activities of the material handler, dock worker, and truck jockeys.
• Manage inventories in warehouses and freezers.
• Coordinate all in-bound freight, UPS, Fed Ex deliveries and distribute to departments.
• Assist in filling in for all jobs associated with the receiving department during breaks, absences, etc.
• Coordinate the proper disposition of all return loads that are brought into the plant through communications with OS&D, QA, Shipping and other Tyson Plants and/or Distribution Centers.
• Responsible for the daily creation of the Lot Check form to track all trailer usage by Danville.
• Drive the yard truck, as required.
• Other duties as assigned.
