About The Position

The Receiving Inspector is responsible for performing inspections, verification, and acceptance of all incoming parts, materials, and components entering the FAA Part 145 Repair Station. The role ensures each item meets FAA airworthiness requirements and internal quality standards before approval for use or storage. This position plays a critical part in preventing the introduction of unapproved, damaged, or non-conforming parts into the maintenance system and supports full compliance with 14 CFR Part 145, 14 CFR Part 43, and applicable regulatory documentation.

Requirements

  • Must have High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Prior experience of 3 years in aviation receiving, quality control, or aircraft parts inspection preferred.
  • FAA P License required (FAA A&P license preferred).
  • Familiarity with FAA airworthiness documents including 8130-3, EASA Form 1, and Certificates of Conformance.
  • Understanding of FAA regulations, service bulletins, maintenance manuals, and parts catalogs.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and regulatory forms.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify non-conforming conditions.
  • Ability to lift up to 70 pounds as needed for material handling.
  • Generate inspection reports for engines and components.
  • Proficient with current software packages, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and other similar repair shop repair and tracking systems.
  • Able to communicate effectively, both orally and written.
  • Must be able to read, write, and understand the English language.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections of incoming and outgoing engines.
  • Inspect all incoming aircraft parts, components, equipment, and materials upon arrival to the repair station.
  • Verify airworthiness documentation such as FAA Form 8130-3, EASA Form 1, or Certificates of Conformance.
  • Confirm part numbers, serial numbers, quantities, and conditions match purchase orders and shipping documents.
  • Identify and report any discrepancies, damage, or signs of non-airworthy condition.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable sections of 14 CFR Part 145, Part 43, and Repair Station Quality Manual procedures.
  • Coordinate with the Receiving Clerk, Lead Inspector, Production, and Quality teams regarding material status.
  • Escalate documentation or condition discrepancies to the Engineer, Chief Inspector and Director of Quality.
  • Determine that no defective, unserviceable, or non-airworthy condition exists prior to release and checking all documentation for accuracy.
