About The Position

The Receiving Dock Worker is responsible for safely and accurately receiving inbound loads of raw materials and production supplies, ensuring product is properly handled, documented, and stored in accordance with food safety, quality, and safety standards. This role plays a key part in maintaining an organized, clean, and efficient receiving dock and supporting overall warehouse and production operations. In addition to core receiving duties, the Receiving Dock Worker is expected to assist in related areas such as shipping, freezer storage, or production support as needed, working collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth daily operations.

Requirements

  • Ability to become certified to operate forklifts, hand and power jacks, and other material-handling equipment. Prior forklift certification is not required; training and certification will be provided.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 60 pounds and perform physical tasks including pushing, pulling, bending, lifting, walking, and stooping.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time and work in cold temperature environments ranging from approximately -5°F to +40°F.
  • Basic ability to read, write, and understand instructions in English.
  • Ability to follow safety, food safety, and quality requirements, including HACCP, GMP, Food Defense, and SQF standards.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with leads, supervisors, and other team members.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a warehouse, receiving, shipping, or material-handling environment.
  • Prior experience operating forklifts or other powered industrial trucks.
  • Familiarity with warehouse scanning systems and computer-based inventory or receiving systems.
  • Experience with inventory management, cycle counts, or physical inventories.
  • Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and adaptability in a fast-paced work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate forklifts, hand and power jacks, and other material-handling equipment to receive, move, stage, and store inbound raw materials and production supplies.
  • Safely unload inbound trucks and verify shipments for accuracy, condition, and required documentation using computer and scanning systems.
  • Transport and store materials in coolers, freezers, and designated storage areas in accordance with food safety, quality, and safety requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving dock and surrounding work areas.
  • Operate additional equipment including automatic pallet wrappers, electric dock plates, and battery charging systems.
  • Follow all company safety, food safety, and quality standards, including HACCP, GMP, Food Defense, and SQF requirements.
  • Work effectively as part of a team and communicate with leads, supervisors, and other departments to support daily operations.
  • Perform additional warehouse, shipping, or production-related duties as assigned.
