About The Position

The position involves various responsibilities related to the receiving and management of materials in a warehouse environment. The role requires daily receiving of materials into warehouse inventory, completing necessary transactions in Oracle, and managing discrepancies for problem shipments. Continuous improvement of receiving processes is essential, along with maintaining a clean and orderly workplace. The individual will work closely with the purchasing and accounts payable teams to resolve issues regarding receipts and represent the warehouse/receiving team in the P2P team to improve vendor payment issues. The role also includes processing various types of receipts, operating a forklift, assisting with loading and unloading materials, and prioritizing work by interacting with area leads in shipping, receiving, and transportation. Quality control is a critical aspect, ensuring no damaged products are sent out, and adherence to standard operating procedures and job safety analysis is required. The position may involve providing on-the-job training to new employees and participating in staff meetings, as well as leading problem-solving and continuous improvement efforts.

Requirements

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • High School degree required; Associate's degree or better preferred
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area, perform 5S when necessary
  • Ability to lift up to 45 pounds required
  • Knowledge of shipping/receiving equipment, process and procedures
  • Good communication, team-building and customer service skills
  • Demonstrates skills in the use of computerized spreadsheets, Oracle, email and word-processing programs
  • Experience (3 year minimum) in a warehouse and/or shipping/spare parts environment
  • Experience (3 year minimum) with Oracle database utilizing inventory, receiving & cycle count modules schedule

Responsibilities

  • Daily receiving of material into warehouse inventory
  • Complete necessary transactions to receive material into Oracle
  • Manage discrepancies for 'problem' shipments by following up with appropriate departments
  • Establish standards and procedures for receiving processes with continuous improvement
  • Maintain a clean and orderly workplace
  • Work with the purchasing team and AP team to fix issues regarding receipts
  • Represent the warehouse/receiving team as a member of the P2P team improving vendor payment issues
  • Manage drop shipments provided by the buyers to ensure payment to our vendors
  • Process 3rd party, Inter-org, Outside Processing Receipts (OSP), Internal Sales Order Receipts (ISO), Advanced Ship Notice (ASN)
  • Operate forklift to perform job duties as identified
  • Assist with loading/unloading of materials from truck
  • Prioritize work by interacting with area leads in shipping, receiving, transportation
  • Responsible for quality control. No damaged product is sent out
  • Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs)
  • Put away stock into correct inventory locations as directed
  • Process material requests, pull parts and adjust system inventories
  • Perform other duties as required and identified by warehouse supervisor
  • Provide on-the-job training to new employees
  • Actively participate in staff meeting discussions
  • Take initiative to lead problem solving and continuous improvement efforts
  • May be asked to lead specific projects directed by management
