A receiving clerk is responsible for receiving, inspecting, and recording shipments of goods and materials. The receiving clerk verifies the quantity and quality of the items against the invoice and purchase order, and reports any discrepancies or damages. The receiving clerk also prepares and processes the necessary paperwork for the shipment, such as labels, packing slips, and bills of lading. The receiving clerk may also assist with loading and unloading the trucks, sorting and storing the goods, and maintaining inventory records.
