About The Position

The Receiving Clerk is responsible for the accurate and timely receipt, inspection, and documentation of incoming materials, products, and supplies. This role ensures that all inbound shipments are verified against purchase orders and packing documentation, properly recorded in the ERP system, and routed to the correct warehouse locations. In addition to receiving duties, the Receiving Clerk assists with Inventory Control by performing scheduled and unscheduled cycle counts, researching inventory variances, and helping maintain accurate inventory records. This includes verifying quantities, lot or expiration dates when applicable, and ensuring materials are stored in the correct locations both physically and within the ERP system. This role requires strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to follow established standard operating procedures to ensure inventory integrity. The Receiving Clerk works closely with Purchasing, Warehouse Operations, and Inventory Control to resolve receiving discrepancies, damaged goods, and inventory variances. This position helps ensure that inventory is accurately reflected in the system, available for order fulfillment, and maintained in compliance with company policies and safety standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2–4 years of Inventory Control or Receiving experience.
  • Hands-on experience using RF scanning devices in a WMS environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on inventory accuracy.
  • Ability to follow system-directed RF workflows.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of Inventory Control, Receiving processes, documentation, lot/expiration control, and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in warehouse conditions including standing, bending, and exposure to temperature variations.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Valid driver's license with current insurance.
  • Strong English reading and comprehension skills (SOP-based environment).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Infor CSD, Infor TWL, or similar ERP/WMS systems preferred.
  • Forklift experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment.
  • Self-motivated and ability to perform duties with little oversight.
  • Willingness to cross-train and improve processes.

Responsibilities

  • Unload incoming shipments from trucks and verify quantities, condition, and product identification using RF scanning devices.
  • Perform RF-based receiving transactions in Infor TWL, ensuring data is accurately updated and synchronized with Infor CSD ERP.
  • Verify shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, and data as displayed on RF devices.
  • Identify, document, and escalate damages, shortages, overages, or discrepancies at the time of receipt, including acknowledgment with the carrier when required.
  • Scan and validate item numbers, lot numbers, serial numbers, and expiration dates via RF to ensure compliance with inventory control and traceability requirements.
  • Conduct spot checks on internal case quantities and validate unit-of-measure accuracy using RF prompts.
  • Apply RF-generated labels and stage products according to system-directed put away or receiving workflows.
  • Assist with exception handling and discrepancy resolution, including system adjustments approved by supervision.
  • Support processing returns of defective or damaged materials using RF and ERP workflows.
  • Coordinate with inventory control, purchasing, and production teams to ensure accurate and timely material availability.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Execute and maintain a structured Inventory Control (IC) process to ensure high levels of stock accuracy, traceability, and system integrity.
  • Perform scheduled and random cycle counts using the RF; Investigate and resolve inventory variances, including missing, damaged, or miscounted items, and report findings to the Inventory Control Manager.
  • Reconcile physical inventory against ERP/WMS records, ensuring real-time accuracy between system data and warehouse stock.
  • Generate inventory reports, summaries, and documentation as requested by management.
  • Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent, accurate, and safe inventory operations.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures when operating equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and RF scanners.
  • Comply with OSHA regulations, company safety standards, and inventory control policies.
  • Proactively identify and report safety hazards or compliance issues to prevent accidents and operational disruptions.
