The Warehouse Associate - Receiving primary function is to retrieve stock to fill customer orders, fulfill and process orders, accept incoming/outgoing shipments, and oversee the general organization of the warehouse.

Requirements

  • Ability to operate various types of materials handling equipment including: Hand trucks, Pallet jacks, Forklifts – Stand-up/Sit-down, Order/Cherry picker
  • Must be comfortable using equipment and elevating to heights ranging from 18ft to 30ft
  • Must be flexible – OT and weekend are required as needed
  • Must be able to read and write in English
  • Basic math & computer skills
  • Must be a team player with a positive attitude and great work ethic whether they are working with others or working unsupervised.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in a warehouse environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bendi Forklift experience a plus
  • Turret Truck experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Ensure implementation of Company safety, health and environmental programs for employees whose work is directed.
  • Ensure that safe work practices are followed, and the environment is fully protected in accordance with Company policy and governmental regulations.
  • Commitment to the Company’s policies, principles, and procedures and adheres the Company’s procedures including Environmental, Health and Safety (“EH&S”), Equal Employment Opportunity (“EEO”), discipline/corrective action, and security.
  • Organizing the daily workflow of receivers, unloaders, and forklift personnel
  • Preparing shipments: Coordinating shipments with production, purchasing, and other departments
  • Training receiving team members on safety protocols and proper procedures
  • Keeping track of receipts and paperwork
  • Working with the quality assurance team to ensure that products meet company standards and that any issues are reported
  • Communicating across the business, including with bookstore staff, delivery services, and vendors
  • Tracks, traces, and updates the status of incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Maintains a clean, neat, work ready area.
  • Promptly unloads trucks and deliveries and sorts and stocks receivables.
  • Maintains an accurate log sheet of daily moves, scanning inventory, and counting accurately.
  • Engages with vendors and drivers with a positive attitude.
  • Provides additional backup support for shipping and receiving departments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
