Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent; or more than 2 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Working experience of shipping and receiving procedures.
  • Working knowledge of relevant computer applications such as Word Processing and Spreadsheet software.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical functions, (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) using units and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Basic mainframe computer systems familiarity and knowledge of Spreadsheet and Word Processing software; Database systems; and Internet software.

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift License preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Verify and keep records on incoming shipments.
  • Examine contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy of incoming shipment.
  • Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, and damages and discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, and recordkeeping purposes of incoming materials.
  • Confer and correspond with Purchasing to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, and nonconformance to specifications.
  • Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock.
  • Deliver or route materials to departments, using work devices, such as hand truck, conveyor, or sorting bins.
  • Delivers and retrieves wire and equipment from the raw materials storage to shop floor and/or moves production parts to various operations.
  • Performs stocking and re-stocking, ensuring that all product and materials have accurate weight and/or piece count.
  • Prepares pallets, loads and unloads raw material and finished product onto truck, vans or automobile for deliveries.
  • Verifies the contents of inventory loads against shipping papers.
  • Verifies that all product and materials have accurate and appropriate identification tags, documentation, and/or paperwork.
  • Reports any mechanical problems encountered with forklifts and powered lifts.
  • Performs cycle counting.
  • Positions blocks and ties rope around items to secure cargo during transit.
  • Performs record keeping, data entry, housekeeping, and follows safety regulations.
  • Complies with the rules and regulations set forth by Federal, Local, and State government, LISI Aerospace, and HSE Procedures.
  • Attends all training provided and adheres to all HSE procedures, policies, and plans, conforming to reporting requirements, and safe operating procedures at all times.
  • Brings any known or suspected nonconformance for all company procedures or legal requirements to management's attention immediately.
  • Seeks opportunities to improve HSE performance by establishing objectives and targets, measuring progress, and reporting results.
  • Implements and suggests waste elimination initiatives specifically related to the function and department such as recycling opportunities and elimination of paper waste.
