About The Position

The Receiving Chemist II is responsible for lab pack processing, drum receiving/coding, or shipping of hazardous waste materials. The individual must demonstrate full working knowledge in at least two of these areas. The role involves coding and consolidating chemicals for disposal, managing reactive materials, completing related paperwork, sampling and analyzing drums, assigning disposal codes, ensuring compliance with QA/QC standards, preparing and coordinating outbound shipments, and supporting logistics and inventory management. Additionally, the position requires maintaining a clean and compliant work environment and assisting in training Chemist I staff.

Requirements

• High school diploma with technical training or 1 year of college.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience.
• 40-hour OSHA certification.
• Strong understanding of chemistry, safety, and computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Code and consolidate chemicals for disposal; manage reactive materials; complete related paperwork.
• Sample and analyze drums; assign disposal codes; ensure compliance with QA/QC standards.
• Prepare and coordinate outbound shipments; ensure proper profiles, labels, and paperwork.
• Support logistics and inventory management.
• Help maintain a clean and compliant work environment.
• Assist in training Chemist I staff.
