About The Position

The position involves maintaining racing receiving barns and supervising the stabling of horses that ship in to train or race. The individual will ensure that each horse has a clean stall, which includes the removal of hay, shavings, and manure, and keeping the area clean and free of trash. Additional responsibilities include raking the shed row and exterior of the building, removing trash, weeds, and grass, and cleaning other stabled barns/stalls as needed. The role also requires producing reports on horse stabling and reporting any unsafe conditions, while adhering to safety requirements outlined in the Safety Manual.

Requirements

• Less than high school education or up to one month of related experience or training.
• Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily.
• Outgoing, energetic, and enthusiastic attitude.
• Comfortable initiating conversations and creating a fun environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervises the stabling of horses in the receiving barn.
• Ensures each horse has a clean stall.
• Removes hay, shavings, and manure to a wheelbarrow and transports it to manure bins.
• Keeps the area clean and free of trash.
• Rakes the shed row and exterior of the building.
• Removes trash, weeds, and grass.
• Cleans other stabled barns/stalls prior to trainers' arrival.
• Produces reports on horse stabling.
• Reports any unsafe conditions.
• Abides by all safety requirements.
