About The Position

Receiving Associate Job Summary: The primary responsibility of the Receiving Clerk is to manage incoming shipments, ensure accurate delivery, and maintain inventory records. The individual will verify shipments against packing lists, inspect items for damage, unload and store materials, and may operate forklifts or other warehouse equipment.

  • Forklift Experience
  • Basic math and computer skills
  • High level of integrity and transparency
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills to work with vendors and delivery drivers
  • Work in a safe and organized manner
  • Attention to detail
  • High school education or equivalent experience
  • At least one-year full-time employment in a similar position
  • Ability to stand up to 8 hours
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the highest level of business integrity in dealing with vendors and delivery people.
  • Inspect the physical condition of deliveries, checking for quality issues and quantity received of all items listed on the delivery receipt.
  • Ensure all delivery or packing slips are signed and dated upon delivery.
  • Communicate with Purchaser in the event of any discrepancies
  • Ensure all materials received are delivered to the correct storage location.
  • Ensure all local and corporate policies, rules, internal controls and procedures and safeguards are adhered to.
  • Keep loading dock and receiving areas secure, clean and organized.
  • Assist with quarterly physical inventories.
  • Assist the Accounts Payable Clerk in researching any receiving quantity discrepancies on invoices.
  • Assist and report to Lead Receiving Clerk
