Position Title: Merchandise Processor 2 Department: Distribution Center (DC) Reports to: DC Supervisor Does this position supervise/manage others? No Location: Asheville, NC Employment Status: Full-Time Non-Exempt General Summary The primary responsibility of a Merchandise Processor 2 is to pick and pack merchandise as required. This is done in a fast-paced environment. The quality and performance of work has direct impact on customers.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Basic math skills
  • Good hand/eye coordination
  • Ability to work independently or in team as assigned
  • Quality-conscious and detail-oriented
  • Flexibility - will be required to work in other areas, overtime and extended hours, as needed
  • Understand and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Lift, carry, push, pull, reach, grasp, bend, and stoop for up to 9 hours at a time
  • Ability to work around moving machinery/equipment (i.e. sorter)
  • Stand for the duration of the work shift and walk/move continuously
  • Adjust to climate changes; hot and cold extremes may occur in the warehouse
  • Consistent and frequent/reoccurring movement (folding, hanging clothing, wrapping, packing, closing, ticketing, etc.)
  • Lift up to 60 pounds several times per day with some overhead lifting; weight requirements may vary within work areas
  • Distribution Center / Warehouse environment

Nice To Haves

  • Previous PC/RF experience preferred; basic keyboarding skills; computer literate (knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word)
  • Distribution center experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Unloads, Picks/packs, Inspects, Ships/loads merchandise to customers
  • Tickets or retickets merchandise prior to shipping to customers.
  • Process returns by prepping good stock and sorting out bad stock
  • Accurately performs data entry via PC or RF device
  • Achieves production (UPH) standards in all areas
  • Achieves quality (IQA) standards in all areas
  • Works with team members in support of process improvements and cost reductions
  • Understands team objectives within the assigned work area
  • Applies basic skills and procedural knowledge within the assigned work area
  • Reports to work as scheduled, using a time clock system
  • Completes other duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Must be able to assist in any area of merchandise processing during busy periods
