The Receiving Assistant is responsible for assisting the Receiving Manager in the successful operation of the receiving department. This role emphasizes providing world-class customer service, exemplifying integrity, responsibility, and excellence while adhering to all company policies. The position involves accurately receiving all incoming products, including date, accuracy, and damage checking, as well as scanning all incoming and outgoing products. The Receiving Assistant will stage products for efficient delivery to the sales floor, process POs, RPOs, mispicks, invoices, and paperwork timely and accurately, and research and process all discrepancies. Communication with department managers regarding delivery issues and vendor out-of-stocks is essential, along with following up on special orders. The role requires operating a forklift and pallet jack, maintaining a clean and organized back room, and supporting store opening and closing activities, including Daily Sales Report (DSR) and cash handling. The position also involves handling register functions, maintaining safety and security, assisting in training department personnel, and providing additional help on the sales floor when receiving duties are complete. The schedule is based on store needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and requires working five days, 40 hours per week, with attendance at mandatory store meetings.
